McCanns to meet Home Secretary
Updated: 30-Nov-2010

Kate and Gerry McCann, parents of missing girl Madeleine McCann, are to meet with the British Home Secretary Theresa May to discuss the progress of the search for their daughter who went missing from her holiday apartment in Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007.

According to the Home Office, the meeting has been organised following an exchange of letters between the McCanns and the Home Secretary.

The couple have requested the meeting to ask for a review of the information surrounding the case held by both the Portuguese and British authorities.

The Metropolitan Police have told British press that they have no plans to reopen the case.

At the time of the Algarve Resident going to press on Wednesday, full details of the meeting were still to be confirmed.
