The collaboration forms the basis of an expanding creative hub in Loulé and an annual design and art festival is now in the pipeline.
Artcatto inaugurated the venture with a two-night event. The well attended opening night included an exhibition by leading Irish artists, in association with the Barbara Stanley Gallery.
The show featured landscapes by Margaret Egan, Victor Richardson and Anthony Murphy, and still life by Graham Knuttel. One of the highlights was the whimsical work by Jimmy Lawlor.

The following evening saw the roof terrace full to capacity. Guests were treated to a night of music and a special PechaKucha, a live talk and slide show hosted by leading designers and creatives.
Gallery owner Gillian Catto said: “This event achieved our collective aim of putting Loulé on the cultural map. We plan to build upon the success of this event and create a unique platform for international artists and designers.”
