Down but not out

Hotel occupation in the region continues to be disappointing, with a fall of just over three per cent in the number of room occupied in July. But according to Joaquim Cabrita Neto, the President of AIHSA, as the tourist season reaches its peak there is every reason to believe that the hotel industry is gradually recovering. Commenting on the latest figures he maintained: “The Algarve continues to be an attractive tourist destination, which along with many others, is suffering the impact of unfavourable economic conditions at a national and international level.”
