Duke of Braganza joins fund raising dinner

The guest of honour was Dom Duarte Pio, Duke of Braganza, who gave an interesting talk on the Modern History of Portugal.
Also at the dinner were the recently elected Mayor of Faro, Macário Correia, and the President of the Estoi town council, José Brito.
The 160 guests enjoyed a first class meal which was followed by a prize raffle draw.
The evening also included music by the Vila Real S. António Conservatory Orchestra conducted by Ricardo Carvalho.
The event was presided over by the club president Agnete Sylvan, who introduced the club members and also talked about the close relationship between the club and the Estoi Casa do Povo (Community Centre) for whose benefit the dinner was held.
The dinner raised close to 2,700 euros which will be used to purchase environmental equipment to improve the Casa do Povo’s auditorium.
