British wildlife tourists contribute to the Algarve

The group, who came to the Algarve as part of a wildlife holiday tour organised by Honeyguide Wildlife Holidays, each donated 35 pounds sterling to SPEA as part of the price of the holiday resulting in 220 euros being presented to SPEA volunteer Rui Euphrasia.
Chris Durdin, the owner of Honeyguide Holidays and the leader of the trip in the Algarve this April, said: “Honeyguiders like to contribute towards the protection of the wildlife they have enjoyed on their holiday.
“We know that SPEA has a tough job helping nature in the Algarve with so many people and pressure on the land for building golf courses, yet many wildlife gems remain and we are pleased to help safeguard them in this small way.”
One of the wildlife highlights on the tour of the Algarve was a trip to the Lagoa dos Salgados which was repeated later in the week, described as a “superb place for bird watching” by Chris Durdin.
